Ratings

  • ★★★★☆

These incredibly lightweight shoes barely added any weight when hung on my backpack between climbs. They provided excellent comfort with a foam footbed and cork insert that molded to my feet, and the shoe's bottom ensured strong traction on rocks and in streams, preventing slips. However, the drainage holes efficiently removed water but allowed small rocks in, keeping larger debris out. Additionally, the inner mesh lining took on a light brown hue after hiking in mud, and even after rinsing, they retained some dirt. Expect staining on the lining if hiking in dirt or mud, unless you're in a more casual setting like a boat trip.

  • ★★★★★

I typically wear a US women's size 9, and the Tetra shoes fit me just right. Even after they got wet, they conformed perfectly to my feet, providing a snug fit without any discomfort. Therefore, I'd suggest sticking to your regular size when ordering, without the need to size up or down.

  • ★★★★★

These water shoes are incredibly stylish, and I got at least three compliments from fellow climbers who were surprised to find out they were water shoes, not regular sneakers. I also like the hassle-free lacing system and the cool 3-D printed look on the exterior.

  • ★★★★★

Priced at $100, these water shoes might seem a bit steep for some. Yet, when you factor in their stylish design, comfortable cork sole, and double-layered lining, it becomes evident that they offer excellent value for the price. Their versatility makes them suitable for activities such as casual strolls, errand runs, or even gym workouts, making them a smart and worthwhile investment.

Crosskix Tetra Closed Toe Dri-Fit Water Shoe Review

I used to have reservations about water shoes, thinking they were a bit — how should I say — uncool. However, my perspective changed when I discovered these Crosskix water shoes.

The following is a review of Crosskix’s Tetra Closed-Toe Dri-Fit Women’s Water Shoe in a US women’s 9 (UK 7) in the color Stone.

First Impressions

Opening my Crosskix shoes, I was pleasantly surprised by their stylish appearance. Water shoes aren't typically associated with chic looks, but I could easily envision wearing them with my workout outfit to run errands. The soft soles provided immediate comfort as I slid them on, making me eager to try them out on an upcoming bouldering trip that I knew was going to require us to hike through several streams.

Quality of Materials

During my short hiking excursion to the crag, I was impressed by how remarkably lightweight these shoes were. They were so light that when I attached them to my backpack between climbs, I could hardly notice the added weight. The moldable foam footbed and cork insert provided exceptional comfort during my hike, conforming nicely to my feet. The shoe's bottom exhibited excellent traction on both rocks and streams, ensuring I didn't slip. However, the drainage holes effectively expelled water when I stepped in a stream, but some tiny rocks and pebbles managed to find their way inside, though they did a good job of keeping larger debris out.

Sizing and Fit

I typically wear a US women's size 9, and the Tetra shoes fit me just right. Even after they got wet, they conformed perfectly to my feet, providing a snug fit without any discomfort. Therefore, I'd suggest sticking to your regular size when ordering, without the need to size up or down.

Overall Design

For water shoes, these babies are cool. I received at least three compliments from fellow climbers who were surprised to learn they were water shoes and not regular sneakers. I also appreciate how convenient it is to tighten the laces without needing to tie them and love how the exterior has a cool 3-D printed appearance. The only observation I made was that after hiking and getting quite muddy, the inner mesh lining took on a light brown hue. Even after rinsing them in the shower with soap, they still retained a bit of dirt. So, unless you're taking these shoes on a boat or another casual setting, anticipate some staining on the lining if you're hiking in dirt or mud.

Value for Money

At $100, the price tag may be higher than expected for water shoes. However, considering the stylish design, comfortable cork sole, and double-layered lining, I believe these shoes justify their price. Their versatility allows you to wear them for various activities like casual walks, running errands, or even gym sessions, making them a worthwhile investment.

The Bottom Line

Stumbling upon these Crosskix water shoes felt like discovering something I didn't realize I'd been missing out on. Whether you're planning a beach getaway or any water-related adventure, I wholeheartedly recommend these shoes. They offer comfort, practicality, and remarkable versatility, breathing fresh life into the traditional concept of water shoes.
